Pond, Nuthall
Hidden away beyond a small strip of woodland beside the busy A610 is this pond. Bordered by the trees on its south side, at the western end it is fringed with reeds and thistles where we saw ringlet, meadow brown, gatekeeper and skipper butterflies. A moorhen swam lazily across the water, and a heron flew over. Heron have often been observed in the vicinity. This photo was taken from the south side looking north. For views of the pond from the north and the east see SK5243 : Pond, Nuthall and SK5243 : Pond, Nuthall.
