SO5467 : Sallies, Lynch Lane

near to Little Hereford, Herefordshire, Great Britain

Sallies, Lynch Lane
Sallies, Lynch Lane
Brook below Lynch Lane marked by pollarded willows. Sally trees are often planted in damp ground and provide useful timber, fast! To plant a willow, simply cut a branch and stick it in wet ground. Only thing to remember - make sure it's the right way up. If you want to use it as a post, don't do as I have done, and forget to turn it round, you will get a living tree not a post.
