High Street, Blockley
In the High Street at Blockley a raised pavement runs along the front of a terrace of 18th and early 19th century houses. Traditionally the main industry of Blockley was silk weaving, the last mill closed in 1885, back 1824 there were eight mills employing around 300 people. Until boundary changes in 1931, Blockley was in Worcestershire, an enclave surrounded by Gloucestershire.
