McClintock owned 4553 acres 2 roods and 20 perches; the valuation of this estate was said to amount to the sum of £3209-5-0 (5-0 being five shillings) Around the turn of the century the tenant farmers on the McClintock Estate bought out the lands they farmed. At that time mixed farming was practised on the small holdings. The farm families were virtually self-sufficient in terms of food production, little in the way of provisions having to be bought in.
