SO5269 : Old Plough Field

near to Ashford Carbonell, Shropshire, Great Britain

Old Plough Field.
Old Plough Field.
This was until recently two fields, the foreground being the Old Plough Field and was always rotated. Until c. 1974 plovers (lapwings) nested here, it's still visited by wintering snipe, but is rather too well drained on old lake bed gravels and stones.
The Leys Bend is where the Teme switches course and heads east to the Severn. The course of the river is marked by woodland.
