SO5269 : Middle Meadow

near to Ashford Carbonell, Shropshire, Great Britain

Middle Meadow.
Middle Meadow.
Under the wood, once a water meadow, fed by a spring in the corner. The field was finally ploughed c. 1990 leading to the loss of the weird pattern of dips and ridges of the old water meadow system. There was also a stunted oak tree in the middle of the field, the high water table inhibiting its growth.
