Lydia Mill, South Brent
Lydia Mill, South Brent
This is the dwelling attached to what was Lydia Mill, where a non-working wheel still exists. There have been mills on 5 different sites in South Brent, records indicate that there has been one here since 1580 or before. Over the centuries the mill had been at different times a fulling, grist or flour mill, as well as a wheelwright's and forge. The River Avon, in the foreground, has been an important assett to Brent over the centuries.
