Sandwiched between a pound shop and a newsagents, the methodists have always tried to be relevant to contemporary society. The methodists have done a lot of work in Hull from this building including support for youngsters, a pop-in cafe, the Seamen's Mission, The Development Education Centre (Hull), and the Hull One World, Fair Trade shop. Methodist Central Hall is a Fairtrade Church.
