"To the memory of the Hunter brothers
William Hunter M.D., F.R.S. 1718-1783
and
John Hunter 1728-1793
They were born at Long Calderwood (East Kilbride)
and died in London after attaining the highest
eminence in the sciences of Medicine and Biology"

The cottage where the Hunters were born is now a museum.
