Monktown Castle interior, Co. Meath

Looking up from ground floor to the vaulted roof in the north-east tower of the castle. To left are the doors into the main rooms of the castle, now gone; to right are windows in the east wall of tower. Putlog holes in wall would have supported the timber floors for the small rooms in the tower. The spiral stairs presumably was in another vanished tower at the south-west.
