TQ4379 : Woolwich Arsenal ‘Convict’ Gatehouses

near to Woolwich Ferry, Greenwich, Great Britain

Woolwich Arsenal ‘Convict’ Gatehouses.
Woolwich Arsenal ‘Convict’ Gatehouses.
In front of the ‘Convict’ Gatehouses are two National Service vehicles on display. The gatehouses led to the convict ships moored just off the shore on the River Thames. Now adjacent to the ramp of the Woolwich Arsenal Pier they still portray a grim reminder of past times.
