The first steam weekend, Clay Mills pumping station
Claymills Pumping Engines Trust gained access to the site late in 1993 and it was in a bit of a state. However, by July 1994 it was possible to use this steam roller to supply steam to the two engines in the dynamo house and have the very first public open weekend with steam. It was to be 1999 before a Lancashire boiler could be brought back into steam and mid 2000 before the first beam engine turned.
