St Anne's Church, Baslow
This church has an unusual clock. There are two faces, one with the normal roman numerals, the other with 'Victoria 1897' on the face to mark Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee. The clock was designed by Dr Edward Wrench, who survived the Crimean War and Indian Mutiny. Back home he became doctor to the 7th Duke of Devonshire, and in 1866 erected a monument to the Duke of Wellington which stands on Baslow Edge SK2673 : Wellington's Monument
