Wooden steps near Bishopstone Glen, Beltinge
There may be a rightangle somewhere on these wooden steps down to the shore from the clifftop by Bishopstone Glen. Heavy rain in 2000 caused landslips on this part of the cliffs on Herne Bay, sweeping away the steps. After 3 years of work to improve drainage and regrade the cliff slope to increase stability, the area was reopened in 2004 with replacement steel steps on piles. A small part of the cliff base reinforcements in existence in 1981 can be seen at the top left.
