Gritstone slabs at Twyn y Glog
These extensive slabs of bare gritstone will have caught the eye of many a motorist travelling north on the A4059 to Penderyn. Particularly when strong sunlight catches them after rain, the glisten brightly against the dull moorland background and have been mistaken for snow cover. Regrettably, though understandably, they are out of bounds to visitors as they lie within the boundary fence of the major limestone quarry of Llwyn-on which is currently worked by Hanson plc.
