Six wooden stumps visible in the photo are just part of a larger circle, made up of the remains of over twenty oak piles which, about two thousand years ago, supported a platform (and possibly a timber building) at this site.
Dumbuck Crannog
This is the best-preserved of several crannogs located within the inner Clyde estuary.
