SO0810 : Remains of sheepfold on Pen March
3 km from Llechrhyd, Caerphilly/Caerffili, Great Britain

Remains of sheepfold on Pen March
A desolate spot. Sheepfolds have been constructed on these hillsides where rock is plentiful - the gritstone outcrops here offer a handy source. In this case the rock has been mapped by the British Geological Survey as being the (delightfully named) Farewell Rock which marks the base of the Coal Measures of South Wales.
