SO0811 : Sheepfold above Nant Pitwellt
3 km from Llechrhyd, Caerphilly/Caerffili, Great Britain

Sheepfold above Nant Pitwellt
Yet another desolate spot on the moors above Merthyr Tydfil. The structure has been constructed from blocks of the Carboniferous Basal Grit which forms the bank against which it nestles. The stream has eroded its way down into the less hard-wearing mudstones of the lowermost Coal Measures.
