A lichen - Anaptychia runcinata
A lichen - Anaptychia runcinata
Growing on the boulders in a rocky bay, this looks vaguely like some flat variety of seaweed, but it is a maritime species of lichen, and grows on rocks down to sea-level. It has long narrow lobes which widen towards the tips.
