Railway trackbed near Shipton Lee 2
This is the trackbed of the Aylesbury & Buckingham Railway built in the 1860s and which ran from Aylesbury to Verney Junction. The next station to the north was Granborough Road, and the station to the south was Quainton Road. The railway had a varied history, and was closed to passenger services in 1936 when the line was part of London Transport, see SP7220 : Railway trackbed near Shipton Lee.

Here, looking south, the railway ran on an embankment through farmland south of Shipton Lee towards Quainton Road station. Ahead, the line of the railway slowly curves to the left so as to join, about 600m ahead, what was then the Great Central Railway that ran between Sheffield, Nottingham and London Marylebone, see SP7220 : Railway line near Doddershall House.
