The Waverley Route Heritage Association held an open weekend between the 23rd to 25th August 2008 to show the public and association members the progress made over the last 3 years at Whitrope. Projects completed or nearing completion include the laying of a ⅓ of a mile of railway track, construction of a new access road and car park and the first phase of a platform area.
