SW4432 : Wayside cross, near Trengwainton Carn

taken 16 years ago, near to Madron, Cornwall, England

Wayside cross, near Trengwainton Carn
This wayside cross is almost lost among the scrub on Trengwainton Carn, to the west of Madron. Compared to other nearby wayside crosses (see for example SW4432 : Boswarthen Cross by the Roadside) this one appears to have lost its shaft, and the head is now set directly into the base. Presumably the 'way' that it is alongside is the bridleway that leads east towards Madron and north-west to Boswarva.
