I liked the unusual window bars, and the name 'Lane Head' over the door also has a geometric frame.
The blank plaque between the upstairs windows formerly indicated that the building was "Mankinholes Wesleyan Sunday School, Built 1833". The Sunday School was an annex to the adjacent and much larger Mankinholes Wesleyan Methodist Church, built 1814, enlarged 1911, which stood on its North (left) side. A new wing was added to the Sunday School on its South side in 1914. Both the church and the 1914 wing were demolished in the 1980s. The extensive church graveyard is still in use and can be entered by a new gateway a few metres to the North.
