Eyemouth memorial to the fishing disaster of 1881
A striking memorial in the old burial ground (now a garden) between High Street and Albert Road, to the 189 fishermen who lost their lives on 14th October 1881 at sea in a great storm. 129 men were from Eyemouth and it remains Scotland’s worst ever fishing disaster.
