Cross, Cellarium window, Fountains Abbey
Who needs stained glass when you have a view like this ? It is generally a pity that Fountains Abbey no longer has any of its glass, as I'm sure it would have been magnificent. However this window at the southern end of the Cellarium in the Lay Brothers Range has a marvellous backdrop which is cleverly enhanced (in my opinion) by the placing of a large wooden cross in front of it.
