Basingstoke Canal
Basingstoke Canal
This view was taken from Durnsford Avenue looking east. There is a thin layer of ice on the water. The Basingstoke Canal (which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest) is currently navigable thanks to volunteers who restored it between the early 70s and 1991; but is under threat again due to councils including Hart and Surrey Heath not paying their share towards its upkeep.
