Pre-clearance Settlement by Loch Loyal
The site of the pre-clearance settlement of Allt an Lagh-aird and Ruighe Leadain.
The small tenants of the township were cleared to make way for sheep farming, probably around 1855. The remains of their longhouses, enclosures and trackways can still be seen.
In this photograph the green areas on the far side of the loch mark the site of Lutterbeg, another pre-clearance township.
