The Wallace Statue
Sculpted by John Smith of Darnick, this tribute to William Wallace was unveiled on 22 September 1814. Carved from a block of red sandstone, this twenty one and-a-half foot statue resting on a nine and-a-half foot pedestal, was commissioned by David Steuart Erskine, 11th earl of Buchan.
