Beach and cliffs at Worbarrow Bay, Isle of Purbeck
Beach and cliffs at Worbarrow Bay, Isle of Purbeck
Looking north from the viewpoint on the narrow isthmus between Worbarrow Tout and the mainland. At the top of the chalk cliffs (Rings Hill) are the ramparts of Flower's Barrow iron-age fort. The well-worn, and extremely steep, coastal footpath up to the hillfort is visible as a darker green streak. The path is well-defined because it is a Range Walk and walkers are told to keep between the yellow marker posts which have been verified clear of unexploded shells.
