Pillbox at Biggin Hill
Pillbox at Biggin Hill
During the second world war Biggin Hill Aerodrome was an RAF fighter base.
On the eastern edge this pillbox was constructed around a tree with the intention of concealing it from reconnaissance planes. The tree has since died, although the trunk remains inside. The pillbox still has a machine gun mount inside it.
