Clootie Well
Clootie Well
Also known as St. Boniface's Well this Pagan or early Christian healing well is an early form of NHS available to all and still attracts those seeking a cure. Rags, red for preference, should be rubbed on the affected part, dipped in the well and strung on the adjacent trees and branches. Now somewhat insanitary it remains a curiosity.
