SD9828 : Porch of church of St Thomas a Becket
near to Heptonstall, Calderdale, Great Britain

Porch of church of St Thomas a Becket
The old church at Heptonstall is a roofless shell. The church suffered storm damage in 1847 and was later replaced by a new church within the same churchyard. The porch has been repaired in the past and still has a stone slate roof. Recently £60,000 was spent on repairs to the grade II* listed building which was on English Heritage's Buildings at Risk register. Parts of the ruin were closed to the public while work was carried out. Link
