Landewednack: Poltesco serpentine works
The serpentine works, built in 1866, was initially water powered. Power was later supplemented with a steam engine. The works employed 23 hands in 1883, making polished serpentine stone souvenirs, but closed in 1893. Beyond the three-storey warehouse, partly ivy covered, stands a round capstan house, which was used to haul fishing boats up the shingle beach
