Bird hide, saltmarshes near Ashlett Creek
A bird hide built on stilts on the very edge of the saltmarshes on Southampton Water. Its predecessor was built by the CEGB in the early 1960s, for local birdwatchers, when Fawley power station was constructed. The original was burned down in 1991, and this replacement was built by a local resident and keen birdwatcher. Unfortunately it was destroyed in a storm in the winter of 2012/13.
