NO5603 : Anstruther Castle
near to Anstruther Wester, Fife, Great Britain

Anstruther Castle
The wooded area to the left of the white house and behind the castellated wall is I believe the site of the old castle by the mouth of the Dreel.
All is not as ancient as it seems. From old photographs taken around the turn of the last century it can be clearly seen that the top of the dyke is a fanciful modern addition. The white house is not as old as it looks either.
