There has been a bunkhouse here at Mounthooly in the remote College Valley for several years, but it has just been renovated and opened as a YHA Enterprise Hostel. Excellent it is too.
It is just a mile onto the Pennine Way and the border, in its final stages as it tumbles down into Scotland. The Scottish Youth Hostels Association hostel at Kirk Yetholm is only 7 miles distant by this route.
