NS3428 : Sandhill House

taken 16 years ago, near to Monkton, South Ayrshire, Scotland

Sandhill House
Sandhill House
Built by the Duke of Portland in 1890 as a dower house, which the Collins concise dictionary says, is a house for the use of a widow, often on her deceased husband’s estate. Sandhill House is set in 9 acres of grounds, with sea views over the Royal Troon golf course. Now it is a very nice B&B.
