N'er Day's 'Dook' at Broughty Ferry
N'er Day's 'Dook' at Broughty Ferry
The Broughty Ferry New Year's Day Dook when up to 200 hardy souls brave the icy waters of the River Tay is possibly the oldest and best known of the Loony Dooks which mark the start of each new year in Scotland. Fine weather such as today's (01.01.06) brought out around 2000 specators. The view extends beyond the harbour at Broughty Ferry up-estuary to Dundee and the Tay Road bridge.
