SH4793 : Rock of ages
near to Llaneilian, Isle of Anglesey/Sir Ynys Mon, Great Britain

Rock of ages
Pre-Cambrian rocks of the New Harbour Group form extensive slabs and pinnacles on the west side of the lighthouse promontory. Closer to the sea, where there is less growth of lichen, the clean rocks display their grey-green colour very well. It is very obvious where the name greenschist comes from for this type of metamorphic rock.
