Supposed Roman Road over Blackstone Edge
Supposed Roman Road over Blackstone Edge, taken 12 years ago
The alleged Roman Road crossing Blackstone Edge is a scheduled ancient monument. Although not evident in this photo, much of this route is paved. The supposed roman origin of this route is hotly debated: many consider the road to be a medieval packhorse road. This view is looking north east along the line of the road from a point just east of Rishworth Drain, which cuts through the road. LinkExternal link
