NN0630 : Ben Cruachan
near to Ben Cruachan [hill or Mountain], Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

Ben Cruachan
Taken from the neighbouring peak, Stob Dearg (1101m) this shows the highest peak in the range (1126m) across a narrow connecting ridge. The north side is deeply bitten by corries, ice lingered longer on shady northern slopes and the headwall of Coire Chat is very steep.
The granite is weathering into screes, there is little secure rock for summer climbing on this face.
