Cattle pens and auction shed, Newport Cattle Market
The auction shed is behind the pens and is a Grade II listed building.
The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales state that: "Newport Cattle Market is a rare survivor of an early, purpose-built livestock market and is important because of the innovative use of cast-iron in its' construction, both in the roof trusses and in the architectural details, such as door and window frames, sills and lintels."
