Demolition of The Woodside Hotel #6
Demolition of The Woodside Hotel #6
Following a fire in August 2008 The Woodside Hotel is being demolished. This view is across Chester Street with the Woodside Ferry terminal down to the right. See also Peter Craine's photo of the hotel in 2007 SJ3289 : Woodside Hotel, Birkenhead. The huge building in the background is a ventilation tower for the Queensway Tunnel and in the background to the right it is possible to see the red and black funnel and the stern of the QEII. At the time this photo was taken the cruise ship was being manoeuvred up to the new liner terminal in Liverpool for its last visit before being taken to Dubai to become a floating hotel.
