NS9288 : Former Kincardine power station site
near to Kincardine on Forth Bridge, Fife, Great Britain

Former Kincardine power station site
The yellow buffer stop on the right is the end of the railway siding that still extends into the site. It was extensively re-laid and was used to bring in and store ballast, sleepers and rails when the Stirling - Alloa - Kincardine railway was reconstructed during 2006-07. The tall pylon above the buffer stop is one of the two built specially high to carry electricity grid cables across the River Forth and clear the masts of ships sailing up to Alloa, Bandeath and Stirling. The floodlighting towers and lower pylons remain from the earlier operations on the site as there is still a large electricity substation there.
