I had passed it at 10:30 and saw no sign of fire. It was visibly alight by 10:51 and twelve pumps were mobilised with compressed air foam systems at 11:49 with 94 fire fighters in attendance. Despite these efforts, the roof could not be saved. It took five hours to bring the fire under control, and Sciviers Lane was closed for most of the day.
