A view north from Walton Bridge, showing the former London & North Western Railway route's track alongside the ex-Great Western Railway route north. Signals protect the junction between the two routes, that on the right enabling trains leaving bay platform 3 at Oxford to use the Up Relief line northbound, obviating the previous need to cross the up main line twice in the 2 miles north from Oxford. The train is the 13.21 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh service, running about 5 minutes late leaving Oxford.
