Much of Headington is built around old limestone quarries. Only one good exposure of the limestones survive, at Rock Edge (formerly Crossroads Pit), at the junction of Windmill Road and Old Road. The limestones have been quarried since the twelfth century. They provided building stones for the older houses in Oxford, as well as parts of many colleges.text/html2005-05-30T21:26:18+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/300220252.133740 -0.460049TL0549 : The Great Ouse Bedford centre

We designed and had it built in 1993. It's probably the only modern house in this part of Oxford. But we may be moving on.text/html2005-05-11T18:46:50+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/300220251.593269 -1.301263SU4888 : Harwell Field NW
