This house is thought to be the first house built on Albany Street in 1812. The street was laid out to mark a division between the developing grandeur of The Regent's Park and the murky commercialism which lay to the east. The Regent's Park and Albany Street were both planned by the architect John Nashtext/html2009-02-24T11:09:27+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/32615Sheila Madhvani51.525990 -0.143310TQ2882 : The Queen's Head & Artichoke

It is hard to imagine that this beautiful villa is right in the centre of London. The Holme is one of two villas remaining from the early 19th century when Regent's Park was laid out by the architect John Nash. Seen here, across the boating lake, it could be easily mistaken for a country house.
