        <description>Built in 1971 was used until 2001. This was the first purpose built cutter and it harvested 4 acres per day - the same as the whole team of forty hand cutters.

It was specially designed to lift and then cut the lavender bush by bush.

It replaced an earlier model built in 1964 which used an 8 horsepower engine, converted from an old cultivator frame.</description>
