R&D scientist, well I think I was once upon a time. I run a molecular biology laboratory working on viruses, such as HCV and HIV although everyone gets a bit nervous if they see me putting on a white coat these days. More commonly seen at my pc.

Actually I am a bit obsessed with computers and the internet, at least Geograph provides me with a useful outlet for my obsession.

I have another obsession, with doocots.

I am trying to collect photographs of all the doocots in East Lothian.

However, as I am now a expert doocot spotter and can detect one a mile off, I am now collecting photographs from other counties, well basically wherever.

Enjoy researching local history and archaeology, again with a preference for round things, not sure why!

I like getting out and about to take photos and explore and tend to jog/walk as I get bored of just walking. Also run for fun but 10k races are about my limit.

Camera's I have been using are the Canon S80, Canon G7 and most recently the Canon EOS 400D.
